Dynamic and creative digital media developer with a passion for storytelling through visual content. Proven expertise in photography and multimedia production, leveraging these skills to enhance communication and engagement strategies for the British Columbia Public Service Agency. Experienced in managing digital assets and collaborating with a diverse team to deliver impactful projects. Committed to excellence in visual communication and adept at utilizing cutting-edge technology to achieve organizational objectives.
In my role as a digital media developer with the Communications, Learning and Engagement division of the BC PSA, I get to take delve into CSS design, HTML5, visual design work, mobile development as well as provide problem solving, hardware trouble shooting and knowledge sharing.
Having completed the MIT Human-Computer Interaction for User Experience Design course reconnected me with how technology interacts and influences people’s lives and their daily work. I was reminded how what we do as a day-to-day activity can determine our future-needs. This, in-turn, has re-ignited my passion for training. I love sharing knowledge and ideas and connecting with like-minded people.
My background in photography and digital asset management has me actively involved with the team in creating an in-house image bank. Along with the technical software side of the project, I’m also responsible for adding to the image bank. Photographic subjects as environmental portraits, headshots, events, objects and awards, interior and exterior images are all part of my repertoire.
Prior to my start with the BC PSA in 2014 I spend many years as a technology instructor teaching web technology, design and computer skills. I’ve been fortunate enough to have taught at Camosun College, UVic, Royal Roads University and Q College, all located on Vancouver Island. I also spent some wonderful years working with an Adobe Certified Solutions Provider offering project support and training for programs such as Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, and Director.
